Methamphetamine (better known as “meth”) is a drug that has traditionally been associated with rural areas in the United States.
However, recent law enforcement initiatives restricting the sales of Sudafed®—which contains pseudoephedrine, a common ingredient used to make methamphetamine—have put small meth labs out of business. This restriction has unintentionally created an opportunity for Mexican cartels to send meth into urban areas of the U.S. In this special presentation, A&E takes a comprehensive look at the phenomenon of mounting meth use in urban centers and examines what is being done to curb the escalation.
From the users to the activists to the law enforcement officers on the front lines, METH IN THE CITY provides a stark warning about the growing availability of this dangerous substance on the streets of America’s cities.
