New Video B2B > New Video FAQ

What is New Video?
New Video is an entertainment publishing, marketing, and Distribution company. Consisting of four major lines—A&E; Home Video, The History Channel Home Video, Docurama, and Scholastic Video Collection—it brings classic television, cutting-edge documentary, independent films, and children’s programming to DVD and VHS.

What are New Video’s different labels ?
A&E Home Video
As the exclusive distributor of A&E; Home Video, New Video brings the best programs from this acclaimed network to home video and DVD collectors. From the Emmy Award-winning HORATIO HORNBLOWER and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, to classic shows including MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS, THE AVENGERS, THE PRISONER, SPACE 1999, and MR. BEAN and everyone's favorite BIOGRAPHY™ series, there's something for everyone from A&E Home Video.

The History Channel Home Video
In connection with the A&E; Home Video line, New Video is also the exclusive distributor of The History Channel Home Video. Spanning all topics from the HISTORY OF BRITAIN to the HISTORY OF SEX, The History Channel uses a combination of unrivaled scholarship, exclusive footage, and eyewitness testimony—plus a passion for the stories that make up the human experience—to truly make the past come alive.

Docurama
New Video's most daring label, Docurama, is dedicated exclusively to critically acclaimed and cutting edge documentary films for the Home Entertainment market. From D A Pennebaker's classic documentary about Bob Dylan's 1965 British tour, DONT LOOK BACK, to the 2002 Academy Award winner, MURDER ON A SUNDAY MORNING, and more, the award-winning films from Docurama capture the events, people and places that speak volumes about our world and continue to prove Everything Else is Pure Fiction™.

Scholastic Video Collection
In partnership with Scholastic and Weston Woods, New Video is bringing classic children’s literature to DVD and video. Including Maurice Sendak’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, Crockett Johnson’s HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON, and Kevin Henkes’s CHRYSANTHEMUM, The Scholastic Collection boasts timeless tales that have been enriching and entertaining children for generations.

Can I make comments on New Video’s current titles or suggest future titles for New Video to release on home video?
Please. All you have to do is write your comments, questions, or suggestions in our feedback form

Are your titles available outside North America? Are they available in PAL?
For the most part, our titles are sold exclusively in the United States, Canada, and Mexico and therefore are only available in NTSC. However, occasionally we partner with a foreign distributor who will produce them in PAL. In those cases, consumers can only purchase the PAL versions of our titles through the foreign distributor. Our website and customer service only provide our titles in NTSC. If you want to know where you can purchase a specific title or titles in PAL, please email us at info@newvideo.com.

Some of your titles are only available on VHS. Will they eventually be released on DVD?
New Video has always been at the cutting-edge of the video industry. As soon as the DVD format emerged, we understood that we needed to shift our focus to this new technology. However, as we did exist before the advent of the DVD, we used to market and distribute our product exclusively on VHS. Now, we are gradually re-releasing many of our VHS-only titles on DVD. Nevertheless, we believe that some of our products, mostly in the A&E; and The History Channel Home Video lines, will typically appeal to consumers who favor the VHS format and therefore we do not release these videos on DVD. If you would like to purchase one of our VHS-only titles on DVD, please give us feedback.

How do I find out about upcoming New Video releases?
All you need to do is join our mailing list. Once you’ve signed up, we’ll send you a bi-monthly email that lists our new product announcements.
