Arlene Donnelly Biography

Arlene Donnelly is a self-taught director/cinematographer with degrees in Philosophy and Fine Art Photography. ‘s career as a cinematographer encompasses a wide variety of experiences, including commercials, music videos, and documentaries. Most notably, Donnelly served as the principal cinematographer on Voices of Women, an independent documentary focusing on the 1995 NGO Worldwide Women’s Conference in Beijing, China.

Donnelly entered the world of directing with One Man Show, a half-hour pilot for Lifetime Television. Donnelly marks her feature directorial debut with Naked States, an award-winning documentary licensed by HBO as part of its America Undercover series. Naked States had the honor of winning Best Documentary at the American Film Institute Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Florida International Film Festival. Donnelly is currently working on Nude Adrift, the sequel to Naked States.
