Catherine Tambini is the co-producer/director of the highly acclaimed documentary FARMINGVILLE (Special Jury Prize – 2004 Sundance Film Festival, 2004 Cinefestival – Best Documentary, San Diego Latino Film Festival 2004 – Best Documentary, deadCenter Film Festival 2004 – Best Documentary, RiverRun Film Festival 2004 – Human Rights Award). FARMINGVILLE was selected as the season premier of PBS’ award-winning documentary series, P.O.V.
Ms. Tambini co-produced the Academy Award-nominated documentary “”Suzanne Farrell: Elusive Muse”" (New York Film Festival, PBS’s “”Great Performances/Dance in America”"). Her other producing credits include
“”Reaching for Perfection: Stanley Williams Master Teacher”" (documentary film in progress).
As a Production Manager Ms. Tambini’s credits include: “”Connie & Ruthie,”"
“”Every Room in the House”" (HBO); “”Best Man”" (documentary sequel to Academy Award winner Best Boy, shown on Cinemax). She has also assisted in the production design of many well-known Hollywood films including “”The Hand that Rocks the Cradle,”" “”Steel Magnolias,”" “”True Colors”" and “”The Secret of My Success.”"
Ms Tambini’s work has earned grants from the Sundance Institute, the MacArthur Foundation, New York State Council for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts, among others. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University”"s Tisch School of the Arts.
Currently Ms. Tambini is making a film about the USA PATRIOT Act with two-time Academy Award-winner Allan Miller.
Carlos Sandoval is the co-director/producer of the highly acclaimed documentary FARMINGVILLE (Sundance Special Jury Prize, Henry Hampton Award, INPUT Selection), which opened the 2004 Season of PBS’s premier documentary showcase, P.O.V.
Mr. Sandoval is a lawyer and a writer whose work has appeared in such publications as The New York Times. His play, “”The Wolfman and His Wife,”" was a Jungle Theatre Playwrights Reading Selection. Sandoval has worked on immigration and refugee affairs as a member of the U.S. delegation to the United Nations, and as a program officer for the Twentieth Century Fund (now The Century Foundation). Of Mexican-American and Puerto Rican descent, Sandoval grew up in Southern California and is a graduate of Harvard and of the University of Chicago School of Law.
As a filmmaker, Carlos Sandoval has participated on numerous panels and selection committees, including the Sundance Film Festival, Latino Public Broadcasting and Tribeca All Access.
