Chris Paine is the co-writer and director of REVENGE OF THE ELECTRIC CAR (2011). His prior work includes the acclaimed documentary Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006). His films as executive producer include Charge! (2011) and Faster! (2002), Mark Neale’s motorcycle films with Ewan McGregor, as well as the documentary No Maps for These Territories (2004) about sci-fi writer WIlliam Gibson.

Chris has appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Nightline, ABC World News Tonight, Democracy Now, Fox and Friends, and Science Friday on NPR. He’s spoken nationally at venues including Brown, TEDx, Stanford and the Matthew Shepard Symposium on Social Justice.

Chris was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Colgate University in New York. In the wake of the BP disaster in 2010, he co-founded the site counterspill.com to challenge industry PR spin. Chris supports the work of the Rainforest Action Network, Impro Theater, and the Black Rock Arts Foundation.
