Winner of several major international film awards including awards at the Paris and Venice Film Festivals, THOMAS IN LOVE was a surprise hit in theaters across the country in 2001. Sexy, smart, and suspenseful, this clever comedy is laced with sensuality from the opening frame–the perfect art house date movie with a little bit a science fiction thrown in for good measure.
They say that true love is hard to find, but it’s particularly challenging for Thomas, a 30-something bachelor in the not-too-distant future who hasn’t left his apartment in over 8 years. Instead, Thomas relies on his trusty visiophone to communicate with the outside world and attend to every human need–he even fulfills his sexual desires with his favorite computer generated partner, Clara, in a full-on zero-gravity cybersex suit.
Thomas continues to look for love in all the wrong digital places–that is, until he meets Eva, a medically endorsed, government-issue prostitute who all at once threatens to turn Thomas’ world inside, out.
