FLATIRON FILM COMPANY RELEASES NICKELODEON®’S TOP-RATED TELEVISION SERIES, “H20: JUST ADD WATER” FOR THE FIRST TIME AS COMPLETE SERIES ON DVD
12-DISC BOX SET INCLUDES 5 HOURS OF BONUS FOOTAGE
October 18, 2012 – New York, New York – Emma (Claire Holt, Vampire Diaries), Cleo (Phoebe Tonkin, Vampire Diaries) and Rikki (Cariba Heine) are sixteen-year-old girls growing up on the sun-drenched beaches of the Gold Coast. For our heroines, life revolves around clothes, the beach, and boys – with school as a minor distraction. When they are accidentally stranded at sea and land on the mysterious Mako Island, they find themselves exploring the eerie jungle covered island before becoming trapped in an ancient cavern under a volcano. While they swim to safety through an underwater channel, the light from a full moon creates a mysterious glow in the water. Emma, Cleo and Rikki get off the island as fast as they can and back to normal life. One by one, however, they find they’ve undergone a transformation that will change their lives forever.
Nickelodeon®’s top-rated television series, H2O: JUST ADD WATER, follows three very different girls facing everyday teen problems with an added twist – they’re mermaids with incredible powers derived from water. On November 6, Flatiron Film Company, a label of Cinedigm Entertainment Group (NASDAQ: CIDM), will release all 78 episodes (3 seasons) of the popular series together on DVD for the first time in one 12-disc set.
Emma’s confident and athletic. Cleo is slightly insecure and awkward. Rikki, the new girl, is “different”—aloof and smart. In addition to turning into mermaids, the girls find they have extraordinary, magical abilities. They enlist the help of Cleo’s friend, Lewis McCartney (Angus McLaren), who attempts to discover the secret behind their transformations. When local bad boy Zane Bennett (Burgess Abernethy) is rescued from a sinking boat by Emma, he sees “something” under the water and embarks on a hunt for the mysterious creature lurking out at sea. When new girl Charlotte (Brittany Burnes), crashes the scene in Season Two, everything changes – she’s ambitious, determined, and wants to become a mermaid herself. In Season Three, Cleo and Rikki face their last year of high school without Emma, who’s gone overseas. A new girl, Bella (Indiana Evans), is revealed as a mermaid from the sea caves of Ireland.
Flatiron’s H2O: JUST ADD WATER 12-disc box set includes the entire series (3 seasons; 78 episodes) plus nearly 5 hours of exclusive bonus material, including a never-before-released behind-the-scenes featurette and three 90-minute specials.
H2O: JUST ADD WATER is created and produced by Jonathan M. Shiff in association with Nickelodeon®. A new 26-episode “spin-off” series, Secret of Mako Island, was recently announced to premiere in 2013.
